Studies in neuroscience and other cognitive sciences indicate that we learn in different ways and at different paces. In this sense, schools should expand their strategies and intensify efforts to personalize learning, taking into account the characteristics and specific needs of each student.
At Escola Carolina Patrício, each student is unique and an active agent in their own learning process. To support this, we employ a wide range of methodologies that maximize learning. Project-Based Learning, Active Learning Methodologies, Play-Based Learning and Collaborative Learning are some of the approaches we use.
Strategies such as Design Thinking, Hybrid Teaching and the Flipped Classroom reshape classroom dynamics, providing students with hands-on experiences in which they apply and test knowledge in practical situations. These approaches reposition participants: students become more active, articulating and organizing knowledge, while teachers act as curators and guides in the process of inquiry and knowledge organization.
After School is a comprehensive program offered to students after regular school hours, from 3 pm to 6:30 pm. This school extension service develops all aspects of students’ potential—social-emotional, physical and mental—while supporting the rhythm and routine of 21st-century families.
In the After School program, you choose the courses your children will attend according to your family’s specific needs. The experiences are divided into learning pathways that serve as alternatives to guide students in their learning and development process.
